Why I Became an Audiologist
My path to becoming an audiologist began through my mom, who worked as a speech pathologist. After taking introductory coursework in communication sciences and disorders, I quickly fell in love with the field of hearing healthcare. I was fascinated by how overlooked hearing often was despite how essential it is to our overall well-being, communication, and quality of life. The more I learned, the more passionate I became about helping bring greater attention to hearing health and empowering people to seek treatment with confidence.
What continues to inspire me about audiology is the ability to help people reconnect with the conversations and relationships that matter most. Hearing keeps us connected to our families, friends, communities, and the world around us. Being able to help restore those connections and improve someone's daily life is what makes this profession so meaningful to me
